Description

L’Arbre Vert is a French brand of washing-up liquids, laundry detergents, household cleaners and toiletries sold in supermarkets, most of them certified with the EU Ecolabel and made in France.

The brand belongs to Sodalis France, a company in Cavaillon that is part of the Sodalis group, owned by an Italian family. Its timeline starts in 2003 with what it calls the first washing-up liquid certified with the EU Ecolabel; today it says most of its products carry that label. More than 90 % of its volume is made in France, at its factory in Saint-Benoît (Vienne), which has held ISO 14001 environmental certification since 2008. Since 2020 the company has also held the PME+ label for independent French SMEs, with a score of 90 % in 2025.

The range covers laundry, dishwashing, surface cleaners, toilet cleaners and refills, plus body wash, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant and a baby line. It is sold mainly in French supermarkets and online. In the brand’s shop in November 2026, a 500 ml baby body and hair wash cost €4.99 and a 250 ml oleo-calcareous liniment €6.99, with free delivery from €40.

Strengths

  • Most products carry the EU Ecolabel, which is awarded on published criteria and checked by an independent body.
  • More than 90 % is made in France, at a factory with ISO 14001 certification, and sold at supermarket prices.
  • It covers both cleaning and personal care, so one brand can replace several conventional ones.

Weaknesses

  • Not every product is Ecolabel-certified, so each pack has to be checked.
  • Most products still come in single-use plastic bottles, even though refills are offered.
  • The brand belongs to a private group, and the site doesn’t say how much of each product is plant-based or biodegradable.

Who it is for

Households in France who shop in the supermarket and want certified cleaning and hygiene products made in France, at ordinary prices.
